Alex Poczak, age 84, of Shelly Road, Quakertown PA, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 in his home. He was the Husband of Doris K. ‎(Quier)‎ Poczak. The couple celebrated their 56th Wedding Anniversary last May.

Born in Freemansburg PA, he was the son of the late Louis and Theresa ‎(Andrejo)‎ Poczak. He was employed at the Bethlehem Steel Co. in the Blast Furnace for 35 years, retiring in 1980 as a Foreman. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a Member of the Salem Mennonite Church, Quakertown PA. He was also a Member of the Edward H. Ackerman Post 397, Hellertown PA.

He is survived by his Wife; Sons, William D. Poczak of Bethlehem PA and Alex W. Poczak of Bethlehem PA; Daughters, Alice M., wife of Thomas R. Wackerman of Souderton PA and Doris T., wife of Dennis Barbieri of Harleysville PA; Brothers, Russell Poczak of Bethlehem PA, Zoltan Poczak of Bethlehem PA and Rudolph Poczak of South Plainfield NJ; 6 Grandchildren and 18 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2003 in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 326 Main Street, Hellertown PA. Family and Friends may call 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Friday in the Funeral Home. The Reverend Bruce Eglinton-Woods officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery, Quakertown PA.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Salem Mennonite Church, 41 East Cherry Road, Quakertown PA 18951.
